Flashpoint Ukraine modern wargaming? BTR Rifle Company TOE

Screenshot from CM:Black Sea
Sometime ago i has been given as gift game from Battlefront (the PC games maker not TY/FOW) Combat Mission: Black Sea. The games was started developing before actual Ukraine crisis and presents what-if conventional Warfare in Ukraine - instead of reality we saw the game portray kinetic conflict between Russia, Ukraine forces and US Contingent. Most importatly the game contains lots of TOE which can be used in various tabletop wargames, how far these TOE are wrong or correct i dont know but still can be used in games like Force on Force, Bolt Action Modern and etc.

Photo from FoF game we played six years ago
For sometime i was looking for excuse to buy some modern warfare miniatures (Especialy Eureka Modern Russians) and start playing Force on Force again. But to be honest last game i play in FoF was random what-if scenario from Georgia Crisis in 2008, where US Patrol engaged Russian recon force but that was ages ago in FoF 1st edition (actually this game was played in 2011, six years ago)

But enough of nostalgy the reason why i writing this article is actually that i want to play FoF again,
while Tomorrows War is good ruleset i think FoF has many things to offer especialy thanks to the fact that there were many expansion books including excelent Cold War Gone Hot, Classified or Day of the Rangers which expands basic ruleset by many ways. And while i am enjoying scifi games modern warfare has somekind of magic that calls me to play it on tabletop.

By creating some scenarios for the mentioned PC Game i saw chance to convert the TOE to the tabletop wargaming and maybe replay some of the game scenarios/moments on tabletop the game itself is very playable but challenging.  Anyway this article should be about BTR-82 Rifle Company featured in game as i wrote above i dont know how much this TOE is wrong but we shall hopefully see how it fare againts US and British Forces on tabletop.
